At Motcombe we believe that the pupils are at the centre of everything we do. Therefore their thoughts, ideas and opinions are very important in helping us to best meet the needs of everyone at Motcombe. Therefore we have several different ways to fully engage the pupils:
School Council - each class as elected school council members who meet regularly.
Young Foundation Governors (YFGs) - these are 2 pupils in Year 5 and 6 elected by Key Stage 2 pupils and work alongside the school governors.
Faith Council - each class has elected members to work with the YFGs to help develop the Christian Distinctiveness of the school.
E-Safety Council - pupils meet regularly to ensure that the school's E-Safety provision best meets the current needs of the children.
The School Council aim to meet regularly with Mr Dines. Our meetings are child led with our main points of discussion being what each class has enjoyed learning. We also discuss ways to make our learning experiences even better and often consider ways of raising money for charity.
One recent idea for the school council was to hold The Great Motcombe Bake Off in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support. We had lots of amazing entries and we raised an amazing £301.21p.
Quotes from recent school council meetings:

"I've been enjoying PE. I like the matches" - Year 6
"I've been enjoying looking at different rocks. We've been dropping them from shoulder height and dropping them in water and seeing what happens" - Year 4
