We follow the National Curriculum for Physical Education 2014
The National Curriculum aims to ensure that all pupils:
At Key Stage 1 the National Curriculum sets out a programme of study for games, gymnastic activities and dance. At Key Stage 2 six areas of activity are taught: games, gymnastics, dance, athletics, outdoor education and swimming.
Our objectives in PE are to develop physical skills, co-ordination and self-awareness; to give experience of competitive teamwork and to encourage lasting habits for healthy recreational enjoyment. Our PE curriculum is broad, covering each area of activity comprehensively, and is well supported by extra-curricular activities. We also use the nearby Port Regis School sports facilities to enhance our curriculum.
Our ambassadors plan to:
North Dorset Schools Galas
Well done to all our swimmers who took part in the Year 5 and 6 gala at St Mary's and the year 4 gala at Clayesmore. We await the published times to see if any of our swimmers qualified for further events.

Well done to our school swimming teams from years 4, 5 and 6 for our recent 2nd place in the gala with St Gregory's and St George's.
Tag Rugby Team
Well done to our tag rugby team for winning their Shaftesbury Area tournament and qualifying for the North Dorset event. Well done to the team who went on to come second in the North Dorset tournament, losing to Sherborne Abbey in the final. We look forward to the next round later this academic year to be held in Bournemouth.

Swimming Gala against St Gregory's Primary School
Well done to all our children in years 4, 5 and 6 for their fantastic swimming and team work in our gala on 7th October. It was great to see 24 of our school children taking part in a swimming gala, cheering on their team mates and winning a number of races. We look forward to more swimming galas soon.
Shaftesbury Area Football Mini Tournament
Well done to our team of 10 Year 5 and 6 footballers who took part in the first of our area mini tournaments. We won 2 games and lost the third but qualified for a final game, which we drew 0-0. Unfortunately we lost on penalties! Keep up the good team work.
