From now until Easter we will be joined in Wren Class by Mrs Tyler who is a student at Exeter University. She is training to be a teacher and this is her second placement. She will be with us 3 days a week and will be doing a mixture of group work and whole class teaching.
Any questions or queries then please let me know. The children have been very welcoming this week which has been lovely to see :)
Happy New Year everyone and welcome back! I hope you all had a lovely Christmas break.
This half term our topic in Wren Class will be 'People Who Help Us' we will be looking into different occupations like police officers, doctors and nurses and learning more about what they do.
If you or anyone in your family has had one of these jobs or can share some experiences that relate with our topic and would like to talk to the children about it then please come and talk to me at the end of the day, where we can arrange a time slot for you. These visits from other adults are so valuable to the children as it gives them a real perspective and a chance to ask any questions they may have. The sessions can be as long or short as you would like.
Thank you in advance.
When we return to school we will be learning about Fireworks and Bonfire Night - please can each child bring in a kitchen roll tube to make their own firework.
If anyone can supply more than one so we have some spare that would be great.
Thanks so much
I hope you all had a lovely break.
This week in phonics we have revised the sounds
'oi' 'ow' 'air' and 'ear'
Spelling shed logins... I have now changed all the passwords to motcombe1 without the capital. Your child will have a copy of their new logins in their book bags tomorrow. Please let me know if there is anymore trouble logging in - hopefully I have sorted it!
Thank you for your patience :)
This week in phonics we have practised the sounds :
'oo' - long for 'moon' and short for 'book'
'ar' in star and dark
